هدف این مقاله تهیه اطلاعات مستند و آزمایشات بالینی ایالات متحده روی مدروکسی پروژسترون استات (MPA) و استرادیول سیپونات (E2C) می باشد که به MPA-E2C معروف است.این دارو اولین کنتراسپتیو هورمونی (پروژسترون-استروژن) ترکیبی تزریقی ماهیانه است که علاوه بر ارائه نحوه استفاده از آن باسایر روشهای پیشگیری و تزریقی DMPA نیز مقایسه شده است.
